ADI and PDI terms and conditions
Quality and standard expectations for OOOSH! instructors, based on the Code of Practice for Approved Driving Instructors.
Instructor diary app
All ADIs and PDIs must use the instructor diary app supplied by OOOSH! Your Local Driving School.
Driving licence
ADIs and PDIs must hold a valid current driving licence. OOOSH! must be told about any points, endorsements, bans, convictions or restrictions of any kind.
Fitness to drive
It is the ADI or PDI’s responsibility to make sure they are fit to drive, and to tell us about any medical condition, disability or injury that may affect their ability or entitlement to drive. They must not drive under the influence of drink or drugs, or book lessons when they are likely to be tired, stressed or distracted. Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated.
Branding
The OOOSH! roof box must be used on your car during your working day. Only branding supplied by OOOSH! can be used on your car.
During lessons
No phone or tablet use unless you are stopped with the engine off and using it for lesson plans or your diary. No smoking or vaping in your car at any time. No eating or drinking during lessons unless you plan a safe stop.
Cancelling or postponing
At least 24 hours’ notice is needed to cancel or postpone a lesson; lessons cancelled with less notice must be paid for. Intensive courses cancelled with more than 7 days’ notice are subject to a £50 administration fee, and payment is lost with 7 days’ notice or less. If a lesson must be postponed at short notice because of a breakdown or emergency, an alternative lesson will be arranged by mutual agreement. For a driving test, the school is responsible for any lost test fees. Tests take priority over lessons. If a lesson starts up to 10 minutes late, it will end late accordingly.
Driving tests
Driving tests should not be booked without first checking the instructor and car are available. OOOSH! has no control over tests cancelled by the DVSA, but pupils may be able to claim back lesson fees when a test is cancelled at short notice.
Taking payments
For a new pupil, you can take payment in advance to your bank account, or collect payment at the lesson in cash or by bank transfer. Give your learner your name, the school name and the refund policy. Be ready to give refunds within 24 hours when a learner asks. Block bookings must stay available until the learner has used those hours. You must stick to the OOOSH! pricing structure and not set your own prices or deals. Any complaint could result in dismissal from the school and legal action.
Social media
OOOSH! must be told about any social media account that relates to driving instruction, and it must respect these terms. PDIs must not advertise.
